A manager at the Solana Foundation, Vibhu, has publicly challenged Ripple executives to a live debate centered on verifiable blockchain performance data. The callout, made on the social media platform X, invites a “facts-only” discussion to compare on-chain metrics, escalating the ongoing rivalry between the two prominent crypto ecosystems.

Questioning XRP’s Network Activity

Vibhu argued that many supporters of XRP tend to sidestep conversations about measurable on-chain trends. While stating his respect for Ripple’s innovations, he asserted that its community should confront data suggesting minimal network progress. Citing specific metrics, he noted that the XRP Ledger’s daily active accounts have remained near 25,000 for approximately three years.

“The numbers don’t lie,” Vibhu stated, suggesting that the XRP network has failed to keep pace with broader market developments. He contrasted this with Solana’s explosive growth, which he reported at over 2.5 million daily active accounts. According to Vibhu, since low fees are a feature of both blockchains, the significant disparity in usage points directly to differences in user demand rather than cost advantages.

A Stark Metrics Comparison

To further illustrate his point, Vibhu compared transactional and payment volumes between the two networks. While the XRP Ledger processes between 1 million and 1.5 million transactions daily, Solana records around 100 million. The gap is also evident in stablecoin transfers, where Solana’s volume approached $2 trillion in October, compared to XRP’s monthly volume of $50 billion to $60 billion.

Despite these figures, Ripple continues to focus on expanding its enterprise footprint. The company’s recent acquisition of GTreasury and the launch of Evernorth on Nasdaq underscore a strategic push toward institutional adoption. Furthermore, Ripple’s upcoming roadmap for Decentralized Finance (DeFi) aims to boost tokenization and stablecoin activity, signaling a potential for future growth in its usage metrics.

A Public Debate Takes Shape

Vibhu extended a formal invitation to Ripple executives for a public forum where both sides could present their data. “I’ll bring facts,” he promised, emphasizing the need for a transparent and evidence-based discussion. The challenge was accepted by Matt Hamilton, former Director of Developer Relations at Ripple, while community member King Solomon offered to host the event.

The potential debate is set to highlight contrasting strategies for blockchain growth and could significantly shape how investors perceive the network strength and long-term potential of both Solana and XRP.
