A Multi-Year Strategy for Enhanced Returns

SharpLink Gaming, one of the largest publicly traded holders of Ethereum, announced it will deploy $200 million worth of ETH from its corporate treasury onto the Linea network. The initiative, unfolding over several years in collaboration with Linea creator Consensys, is designed to generate enhanced yields through sophisticated, risk-managed strategies.

The company aims to boost returns on its significant Ethereum holdings by tapping into multiple revenue streams. These include native staking rewards, restaking rewards from securing EigenCloud services, and additional incentives from both the Linea network and its partner, Ether.fi. To ensure the safety of its assets, SharpLink confirmed that all operations will be secured through its institutional-grade custodian, Anchorage Digital Bank.

“As one of the largest public holders of ETH, we manage our treasury with institutional rigor and discipline,” said SharpLink Co-CEO Joseph Chalom. “This deployment enables us to access the best of Ethereum’s staking, restaking and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) yield, while maintaining the institutional safeguards our stockholders expect.”

Building On-Chain Capital Markets

Beyond generating immediate yield, the partnership between SharpLink and Consensys has a more ambitious, long-term goal: to pioneer the development of institutional capital markets on the Ethereum blockchain. This broader strategy includes creating foundational infrastructure for on-chain capital raises, programmable liquidity tools, and tokenized equity strategies.

Chalom described the move as a “foundational step” in a much larger effort to optimize treasury performance and maximize stockholder value. SharpLink is a key member of the Linea Consortium, a group of organizations dedicated to driving adoption and distributing rewards on the layer-2 scaling network.

The firm is currently the second-largest public holder of Ethereum, with a treasury of nearly 860,000 ETH valued at over $3.5 billion. The company’s stock, trading under the ticker SBET, was recently priced at $14.34 per share.
