Midnight Foundation and Project Catalyst Launch Initiative to Boost Web3 Privacy
The Midnight Foundation, an organization focused on advancing the privacy-enhancing Midnight blockchain, has partnered with Project Catalyst, Cardano’s decentralized innovation engine. The collaboration is designed to accelerate the development of privacy tools within the Web3 sector by helping developers create open-source decentralized applications (dApps) with real-world utility.
A Dedicated Fund for Privacy Innovation
This partnership establishes an exclusive “Midnight Compact dApps” category within Project Catalyst’s Fund15 round. This new track will back the development of diverse open-source Proof of Concept projects that showcase practical use cases for Midnight’s privacy technology. By leveraging Catalyst’s transparent community voting framework, the initiative aims to identify high-potential projects that can drive scalable privacy adoption across various industries.
Developers are encouraged to explore areas like finance, governance, health, and artificial intelligence. The goal is to foster innovation that can balance confidentiality and transparency, from regulatory-compliant financial products to secure governance mechanisms for civic groups. Each selected project will be required to produce reusable code, documentation, and a working demo interface.
Fostering Real-World Solutions
Kriss Baird, General Manager of Catalyst, said the partnership empowers developers to build privacy-by-design solutions for everyday use. He added that this joint effort promotes a collaborative network where innovators, reviewers, and voters can shape responsible blockchain advancements. Project Catalyst will manage the voting process, allowing the community to select promising proposals, while the Midnight Foundation will oversee funding and disbursements.
Ultimately, the partnership reflects a shared vision to strengthen the wider Web3 ecosystem with privacy-focused innovation and a seamless experience for builders.
