Bitget and Chorus One Launch Monad Staking, Attracting $6 Million in First Week
A Strategic Partnership for High-Performance Staking
Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has partnered with Chorus One to introduce institutional-grade staking services for Monad. The collaboration makes Monad staking accessible to Bitget’s user base of over 120 million and comes ahead of the Monad mainnet’s scheduled launch in November 2025.
The program saw immediate interest, with users locking more than $6 million in assets within the first week. Monad is a Layer 1 blockchain designed for high throughput while maintaining full compatibility with Ethereum contracts, allowing for seamless integration without code modifications.
The Chorus One team stated that the integration aims to lower the barrier to entry for users, which helps ensure the network’s validator set grows with greater decentralization, stability, and geographic diversity. Chorus One, which holds an ISO 27001 certification for security, currently secures over $3.5 billion in assets across more than 30 blockchain networks.
The service offers flexible terms for investors, including options to stake and potentially restake Monad tokens. According to the project’s technical documentation, the Monad Chain features a rapid unstaking period of approximately 5.5 hours.
Focus on Cryptocurrency Adoption in Emerging Markets
Both companies highlighted that the partnership is designed to facilitate cryptocurrency adoption in emerging markets. This initiative aligns with Chorus One’s previous efforts, such as its collaboration with the Avalanche Foundation to expand validator infrastructure in Africa.
Bitget also has a significant operational presence in key emerging regions, including the Asia Pacific and African markets. By joining forces, the two firms aim to provide a compliant and scalable on-ramp for users in these areas to participate in the digital asset ecosystem.
