What Defines a Premium Domain?

Premium domains are high-quality, previously registered domain names that are available for purchase on the secondary market. These domains are often sought after for their potential to become the foundation for highly successful websites and online projects, typically due to their brevity, brandability, or keyword relevance.

The Acquisition and Transfer Process

Securing a premium domain involves a structured process designed to protect both the buyer and the seller. The journey begins on a marketplace checkout page, where the purchase can be completed. Once the transaction is finalized, an invoice is typically issued immediately.

Following the purchase, the service provider contacts the seller to obtain the transfer code required to move the domain to the new owner’s account. While this code is often provided within 24 hours, the process can sometimes take up to 10 days, depending on the seller’s response time. To ensure a secure transaction, an escrow service is used to hold the buyer’s payment until the domain transfer is successfully completed, at which point the funds are released to the seller.
