Tether Partners with Vietnam’s Da Nang to Advance Web3 Infrastructure
The city of Da Nang is accelerating its push toward a digital future by partnering with Tether, a major player in the digital asset industry. The two have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop the city’s Web3 infrastructure and enhance its digital governance capabilities.
A Strategic Push for Digital Governance
The collaboration between Tether and the Da Nang People’s Committee is focused on leveraging blockchain, digital assets, and peer-to-peer technology to create more effective civic tools. Both parties will explore how these technologies can build governance systems that are more transparent, efficient, and resistant to tampering. As part of the agreement, Tether will share global best practices to help Da Nang develop policies that align with leading international standards.
Shaping Policy for Blockchain and Asset Tokenization
Tether will provide crucial support as Da Nang shapes its regulatory framework for blockchain and digital assets. This guidance will cover sandbox experiments for new fintech projects and the tokenization of real-world assets (RWAs). Drawing on its global experience, including its work with the Plan ₿ model, Tether aims to help establish a clear and secure environment for Web3 development and digital asset regulation in the city.
Building Local Talent Through Education
A key component of the partnership involves fostering local expertise. Tether and Da Nang plan to collaborate with universities and research institutions across Vietnam to offer training courses in blockchain, AI, and peer-to-peer systems. These programs are designed to equip local teams with the skills needed to build and manage blockchain-based payment systems, promoting financial inclusion and modernizing payment infrastructure for both the public and private sectors.
Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, praised Da Nang’s vision, noting the city is positioning itself as a leader in digital governance in Southeast Asia. Echoing this sentiment, Da Nang’s Vice Chairman, Ho Ky Minh, stated that the city aims to become a top destination for global technology and finance companies, viewing the partnership with Tether as a critical step in achieving that goal.
