Anchorage Digital Adds Custody for Bybit’s bbSOL, Boosting Institutional Access
Bridging Exchange Products with Institutional-Grade Security
Anchorage Digital, a federally chartered crypto bank, has expanded its institutional custody services to include bbSOL, a liquid staking token for Solana offered by cryptocurrency exchange Bybit. This integration allows institutional investors to securely hold bbSOL within Anchorage’s regulated and insured custody framework, a critical step for broader adoption among large-scale market participants.
The move connects a popular exchange-issued product with the high-security environment demanded by institutions. Bybit’s bbSOL allows users to gain exposure to Solana staking rewards while maintaining liquidity. Until now, holding such an asset directly presented operational and security challenges for large funds and corporate treasuries.
By providing custody, Anchorage Digital enables its clients to access the benefits of bbSOL without the risks associated with self-custody or storing assets on an exchange. This development highlights a growing trend of collaboration between crypto exchanges and regulated custodians to build infrastructure that meets the rigorous compliance and security standards of the traditional finance world.
